Phoenix Charter School is happy to welcome our first Dietetic Intern, Jennifer Wood, for a seven week rotation fall term. While here, she’ll be focusing on nutrition education & learning about Phoenix’s food program. The Dietetic Internship Program is offered by Utah State University.
Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics at San Francisco State University in 2014. Shortly after graduation she moved to Roseburg for a job as a WIC Nutrition Counselor. Her goal is to complete her internship in February 2017 and become a registered dietitian with a focus on childhood and adolescent nutrition. Jennifer will be completing seven weeks of her internship at Phoenix School; she hopes her time at here will allow for educating teens on healthy eating habits, learning about the inner workings of a school kitchen, and experience running a food service program.
When she is not working towards her
professional goals, Jennifer can be found outdoors. She enjoys running, hiking, cycling, camping, and paddling. She is also an avid cook and loves to prepare delicious, wholesome meals for family and friends. Some of her favorite foods are beans, carrots, eggs, apples, berries, ice cream, muffins, & lasagna. Jennifer hopes to share good food and healthy lifestyle habits with those around her, empowering the community to make positive lifestyle changes.
Jennifer is available at Phoenix Charter School for nutrition-focused
